Consular Services

Consular services offered by the American Embassy in Windhoek include emergency and other assistance to American citizens, issuance of U.S. passports, and visa services for Namibians and other foreign nationals who wish to visit or study in the United States. Information regarding World Wide Cautions is also available on this page and updated as necessary.

The Consular Section is located in the main U.S. Embassy building at 14 Lossen Street, Ausspannplatz, Windhoek. We are open Monday to Thursday mornings from 8h30 to 12h00. The section is closed on weekends and on U.S. and Namibian public holidays.

You may contact the Consular Section during regular working hours on Tel. +264-61-295-8500 or fax +264-61-295-8603. In case of an after-hours emergency that threatens the life, safety, or welfare of an American citizen, please call the Embassy Duty Officer by calling 081-127-4384.

Note: When calling from overseas, all numbers should be preceded by the country code 264, and the "0" preceding the city code should be dropped (e.g., 011-264-61-295-8500).
