U.S. EMBASSY OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON MILLENNIUM CHALLENGE CORPORATION COMPACT WITH NAMIBIA

Neither the American Government nor any American company has purchased any piece of Etosha National Park from the Government of Namibia. We agree with the SWAPO Party Youth League that Etosha National Park is a wonderful treasure for the Namibian people and that it should be protected and nurtured. Our goal in signing the MCC Compact with Namibia is to promote economic development and reduce poverty in Namibia through projects proposed by the Government of Namibia.
